ForeCraft is for a small business owner who wants to read their own numbers without hiring an analyst. Upload a profit and loss export, and ForeCraft explains what changed month over month, what it is likely to mean, and what to look at next — in plain language, on a free workspace for one company.
What you can review
The Owner plan is a self-service workspace for one business. You upload a spreadsheet exported from your accounting software, confirm how your categories map, and get a readable review of the month.
- Profit and loss overview. Revenue, costs, and profit for the month, with each category laid out so you can see where the money went.
- Basic balance sheet overview. What the business owns and owes at the end of the period.
- Month-over-month changes and core KPIs. What moved compared with last month, in both currency and percentage terms.
- Plain-English monthly summary. A written explanation of the month rather than a wall of figures.
- Basic 13-week cash outlook. A simple forward view of cash based on the numbers you have uploaded.
- Top three changes, risks, and recommendations. The three things most worth your attention this month.
- A share link and export. Send the review to a partner, bookkeeper, or lender. Free workspaces carry ForeCraft branding.
Terms used on this page
- Profit and loss (P&L)
- A statement of income and expenses over a period, ending in profit or loss. Sometimes called an income statement.
- Balance sheet
- A snapshot of what the business owns (assets) and owes (liabilities) at a single point in time, and the difference between them (equity).
- Variance
- The difference between two periods, or between plan and actual. A rise in software costs from one month to the next is a variance.
- 13-week cash outlook
- A rolling forward view of expected cash in and out over the next quarter. Thirteen weeks is a common horizon because it is roughly one quarter.
- Management pack
- The bundle of reports and commentary a finance professional prepares each month. On paid plans ForeCraft produces one automatically.
What the free Owner plan includes
| Business workspaces | 1 |
| Users | 1 |
| Reports and saved packs | 1 report and 1 saved pack per month |
| Data input | CSV and XLSX upload |
| Cost | Free — no credit card required |
What ForeCraft does not do
- The free plan covers 1 business and 1 user. Reviewing several companies, or sharing a workspace with a colleague, needs a paid plan.
- You get 1 report and 1 saved pack per month, and no full history of past months.
- There is no automatic accounting connection on this plan — you upload a CSV or XLSX file yourself. QuickBooks and Xero connections are a paid feature and are currently in beta.
- Shared links and exports carry ForeCraft branding. Custom branding is a paid feature.
- There are no advisor decision memos, multiple cash scenarios, team seats, or bulk exports on the free plan.
- ForeCraft is not a bookkeeping system and does not replace QuickBooks, Xero, or your accountant. It reads figures you already have and explains them.
- ForeCraft does not file taxes, process payments, or give regulated financial, tax, or investment advice.
- Everything ForeCraft produces is based on the data you upload. If the underlying bookkeeping is wrong, the review will reflect that.
How to get started
- Export your profit and loss from your accounting software as CSV or Excel.
- Create a free workspace and upload the file.
- Confirm how your categories map — ForeCraft remembers this for next time.
- Read the summary and the top three things to look at.
Most first reviews are done in a few guided steps. You can see the full worked example in the demo before signing up, or browse example management packs.
