ForeCraft is for a solo fractional CFO or CPA running a recurring monthly close for a handful of clients. It analyses each client’s figures, explains the variances, records decisions with an owner and a due date, and produces a client-ready management pack from one workspace per client.
The monthly review, end to end
The Advisor plan covers 5 client workspaces and 1 advisor seat at $149 per month. Each client keeps its own workspace, its own category mapping, and its own history.
- Full P&L and balance sheet analysis. Not just totals — each category is compared against the prior period so you can see what moved.
- Variance explanations. ForeCraft ranks what changed and drafts the explanation. You edit before anything reaches a client.
- AI executive summary. A short written summary of the month, grounded in the uploaded figures rather than generated freely.
- Source traceability. Every figure in the narrative can be traced back to the line in the file it came from.
- Decision memos. Each recommendation carries an owner, a due date, and a next step, so the pack ends in accountability rather than observation.
- Category-mapping memory and full close history. The second month is faster than the first because the mapping is remembered.
- Up to 3 cash scenarios. Model different collection or spend assumptions against the same base data.
- Client portal, comments, and Print Pack. Clients open a link in a browser — no account, no login — and can ask questions by section.
- Task export. Push the agreed next steps out to wherever you track work.
Terms used on this page
- Management pack
- The monthly deliverable a fractional CFO sends a client: executive summary, variance analysis, KPI snapshot, cash view, and agreed actions.
- Variance analysis
- Comparing each line of the accounts against a prior period or a budget, then explaining why the difference occurred.
- Decision memo
- A short record of a recommended action with a named owner, a due date, and the next step — so the recommendation can be followed up next month.
- Source traceability
- The ability to click a figure in the narrative and see the source row it came from, so you can defend the number in a client meeting.
- Cash scenario
- A saved variation of the cash outlook with different assumptions, such as slower collections or a delayed hire.
- Client portal
- A browser link that shows the client your latest published pack. It stays live and updates when you publish again.

What ForeCraft does not do
- QuickBooks Online connection and Xero connection are in beta. They are built and reachable, but they have not yet passed a production verification run, so treat them as unproven and keep CSV or XLSX upload as your reliable path.
- The Advisor plan covers 5 client workspaces and 1 seat. More clients, or a second person in the workspace, means the Practice plan.
- Firm branding, budget-versus-actual, year-over-year comparison, bulk downloads, review workflow, and strict mode are Practice features, not Advisor ones.
- Multi-entity consolidation is a Firm feature and is currently in beta. Board-deck export is not built yet.
- ForeCraft is not a bookkeeping system, a general ledger, or a tax filing tool. It reads what your accounting software produces.
- ForeCraft does not audit the underlying books. If the trial balance is wrong, the variance analysis will faithfully explain wrong numbers.
- The AI drafts commentary; it does not sign off on it. Every pack is yours to review and edit before a client sees it.
How a month runs
- Pull or upload the client’s P&L and balance sheet.
- Confirm the category mapping — remembered from last month.
- Review the ranked variances and edit the drafted explanations.
- Turn the two or three that matter into decision memos with owners and dates.
- Publish the pack to the client portal or export the Print Pack.
- Next month, open with last month’s decisions and check what moved.
